COMMUNITY CASH AWARD 
Cash awards up to £5,000 for young people to design and set up projects on a voluntary basis that will benefit their local community. Currently running in Caerphilly, RCT, Blaenau Gwent & Merthyr.
How does it work?
Past awards have included funding for start up youth cafes, asylum seekers improving perceptions in the community through photographic exhibitions, community radio stations, organic gardens kept for and by young people with mental health problems, DVD’s to raise awareness of crack dealing.
Eligible projects must:
- be run and managed by young people
- deal with a local community need, with clear benefit to that community
- benefit the young people running the project
- be new or developing initiatives
The following are not eligible:
- Formal groups or organisations
- Expeditions or overseas travel
- Fundraising activities for charity
- Trips and outings, unless they have educational or training value
Participants can receive:
- A Prince’s Trust staff member or volunteer to support them in setting goals, making decisions and evaluating their project.
- Access to specialist advice for their project
